Landlines Exhibition 2012

The following paintings were created for a group exhibition in January 2013 at the Kereru Gallery, titled 'Landlines'. The way I interpreted this theme is twofold. Firstly I am literally making lines made out of the land: I have collected and ground beach pebbles to make my own pigments (all the colours below are made from my own hand-made pigments mixed in beeswax and damar resin). Secondly, I am working with the idea of 'landing a line' whereby I place lines on the paintings with all of me present, as in the Enso within Japanese calligraphy. So I end up with Enso's made of rocks.
NB: All of these pieces have now SOLD.
